RCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process by which adults are initiated into the Roman Catholic Church.

During the journey, which takes about one year, men and women are guided and cared for and gradually introduced to the Catholic way of life. During the journey, each person is accompanied by a sponsor (a baptised Catholic) who acts as a guide and companion.

Each stage of the journey is marked by a liturgical rite, which is celebrated in the presence of the whole community.

On Easter vigil, they receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist and are welcomed by the community as new members of the Catholic Church.
